25 years ago a group of friends, Jo Wegloop, Léon Krochmal and Benoit Frajermauer, had the idea of founding a new golf club and making it accessible to everyone, without any discrimination based on nationality, origin, race or religious affiliation.
In 1981 Antwerp International Golf & Country Club Rinkven VZW was finally set up by a small group of people including Messrs Benoit Frajermauer, Ronald Krochmal, Gustaaf Cleiren, Marc De Cleene and Frans Keppens. Baron Paul Rolin was responsible for designing the first 18 holes, the red and white course. The yellow course became a reality in 1986. And in 2006 the golf club acquired a fourth set of 9 holes (the blue course) on the outskirts of Antwerp.
This means that the club has two magnificent 18 hole courses in an oasis of peace. The fairways run through a setting of firs where a multitude of animals still live wild, which is a glorious natural spectacle. The playing options are particularly varied. With water features, bunkers, dog legs and small fairways that wind through rows of trees, the golfer faces a challenge tailored to his or her skills.
